Welcome

This blog is devoted to all things quilted and handmade. I have a new found love affair with quilts. I LOVE the colors, fabrics, designs and love that is sewn into quilts. Along with this new addiction comes a world of wonderfully kind and creative women (with a couple men thrown in for variety...LOL!). Please enjoy your stay here. I hope it will fuel your own creativity...

Anna's Quilt

I am so excited that Amy from Amy's Creative Side is again doing her on-line quilt festival.  This is a wonderful quilt show that is not to be missed.  What could be better than going to a quilt show in the comfort of your own home.  Grab a cup of coffee or tea and settle in to enjoy the show.  While your here though...this is my entry a quilt I made for a friend to give her daughter for Christmas.  It show cases darling pictures her daughter drew on material when she was 4 yrs old.  It also has parts of her favorite tie-dyed t-shirts she had outgrown but saved because she liked them so much.  The background and the backing are soft flannel.  I loved working on this quilt.  It was an honor and privilege to find a way to showcase her artwork as a child, incorporate the shirts she loved and make it usable for her now.  Enjoy the show!  P.S. you can also get to it from the Quilt Festival icon on the side bar of my blog.

What a unique way to showcase the work of a child. Lovely quilt! The binding really worked well at setting it off.

What a treasure for the little girl. And re-using the t-shirts she loved is a great touch.
